Understanding our course levels — explore our structured course levels from beginner to advanced and find the right class for your skill level.

Understanding Our Course Levels

In this list I will give a brief explanation of what you should know in each level to help you decide where or what class you should join. This is my approach, but other schools have their methods. Always check with the instructor.

Why is this important? To progress at a good rate, you should always join classes at your level or lower. Don't skip levels or jump into a class that's not your level — it can slow down the entire class. Both leaders and followers want to keep progressing, and nothing is more irritating than joining a class where you should already know the basics of a certain foundation.

From all these foundations, I've created different patterns to accelerate your following and leading skills. The goal is to enhance your understanding and mastery of fundamental concepts.

If you're a beginner, you might realize this is a lot, and this is only the solo part — we haven't even done combinations and connections yet. From class 1 till 3, you should be dancing at least 2 to 3 years to embody it. There are no shortcuts to the art of dancing. Take your time and enjoy the journey. I explored all this in 7 to 8 years; you can learn it in less time if you practice the right way, work on yourself, and don't get distracted. This style is a truly enjoyable dedication of reflection. It will improve your way of thinking outside of dancing. See you in class!
