Brazilian Zouk and partner dance, Netherlands
Dancer, teacher and DJ.
Years on the floor, one lit stage, and every door into it in a single place.

The age I was when I started dancing in Suriname, and have not stopped since.
I am Lorenzo Tjon, a dancer and dance teacher with many years in the dance world. I started dancing in Suriname at 18, with breakdance and street dance. Not long after, I got curious about other styles. I started capoeira, where alongside this Afro-Brazilian dance fight I also learned to play music. Through my fellow players I came into contact with salsa, bachata, merengue, zouk and classical.
That led me to Dansclub Danzson, where after three years I was trained as an instructor. Once in the Netherlands I completed teacher training at Salsaventura, Dancalegria and BrasaZouk, among others. Alongside the Latin lessons I teach Zumba at various dance and sports schools and run dance projects at schools. I also perform in different styles.
So far I have twice taken the title Best Dancer at the annual International Beach Festival in Suriname, and placed second in the Surinamese version of So You Think You Can Dance. To keep my dancing current I take classes, courses and workshops with teachers like Lars Wensink, Willem Engel, Claudio Gomes, Adilio Porto, Edelmar Pasty, Brian van der Kust, Gilson and Natasha, Carlos and Mirella, and Maikel and Aline.
In my lessons respect for each other and for everyone on the dance floor comes first. Technique gets attention, but fun leads.

A few things I keep sending people.
Book a class, a private session, a workshop or a performance. Tell me the date and I will bring the floor.
